How the adjustable load bank is used
Changing the resistance R of the bank sets the current a source must deliver, I = V / R, and the power absorbed, P = V^2 / R. Stepping R down from its maximum gives a series of operating points from light load to full load, all at unity power factor, which keeps the measurements simple.
